Privateer Days is held in Liverpool, the most populous area of the Region of Queens Municipality, on the south shore of Nova Scotia, Canada.
To get here: By plane Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ) is the closest major airport, a two hour drive from Liverpool. Limited small-plane service is also available from Portland, Maine to the Yarmouth airport (YQI), about two and a half hours' drive from Liverpool. Please note that there is no bus service from either airport to Liverpool. By car If you are travelling from outside Nova Scotia, take Highway 104 east from the Nova Scotia border to Exit 15/Highway 102 (Truro). Take Highway 102 south to Exit 1A (Highway 103/Yarmouth/South Shore). Take Highway 103 to Exit 19 (Liverpool), and turn left off the exit ramp. About a minute later, at the Irving gas station, turn right, follow the road for a kilometer straight over the blue bridge, then turn right--the festival takes place mostly on the waterfront. If you are driving from Halifax International Airport, follow airport exit signs for Highway 102, take Highway 102 south (in the direction of Halifax) to Exit 1A, then follow directions as above. If you are driving from the Yarmouth airport or southwestern Nova Scotia, follow Highway 103 east, turn right toward Liverpool at Exit 19, and follow directions as above. Parking There is usually ample free parking along the waterfront for most festival events. If you are attending the parade, you may either park at the waterfront and walk north, or park at either of the two supermarkets nearby and walk south. You will not be able to park at the Hank Snow Museum, as this is a staging area for the parade. If you are attending the invasion re-enactment, your best bet is to park along Main Street and walk to Fort Point Lighthouse Park, as the very few parking spaces in the park itself are filled very quickly.
